Aegis has the largest and most noticable animation in the game (for enchants). The attacker had better know when it's on his enemy.

searing flames owwwwnnnnnnzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

on topic: who brings blind surge/flash into HA anyway? Aegis is pretty popular, but i'm not entirely sure about air eles. Water eles on the other hand...

...If the attacker happens to be a super psychic that is instantly aware of any and all 2 second casts currently taking place anywhere on the map.

I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that in the course of, say, a 3 minute match (during which there are 6 opportunities to cast Aegis--if the monk[s] doesn't get any HSR Prot) you might miss one. If you happen to train on a new target to build up or kill time between spikes, you might miss the Aegis cast (which is all of 2 seconds--oh wait! unless he has HSC Prot too).

Don't be an idiot. Enchantment arrows all look the same on a target bar. You can't possibly expect to know for sure what those enchantments are until you take a swing.

Blind the monks so they don't see who to heal!

No, aegis has a special glittering around the character as far as I know, makes the enchanted character look different then normally enchanted persons. Whether this effect is present on others that's something I'm not aware of.

That is out of the question, any decent caller knows when the other teams casts Aegis, I know when any team casts Aegis, unless the monk is hiding behind the guild lord and Im at a flag stand /sarcasm, in this case, since this doesn't happen in HA, Aegis trains are very predictable because most teams have up to 2 monks, and don't tell me atleast one person of your team isn't targeting them, even if it's a Ele that casts aegis (which is rare in HA), someone for sure is still targeting him, quite honestly, if you miss a 2 second cast time spell like that from a monk, then I suggest you get better team.

.... Aegis DOES have a unique animation it is a light blue swirling aura. As I have said before just ignore whatever Nadia has to say he argues just for the sake of arguement. And to think he calls himself a monk...

"Don't make fun of Nadia. He is one of the best, if not THE best prot monk in the game." - Epic post from an epic thread.

...a better monk than you, I'd wager.

So you're telling me you've never been on a team that has missed an Aegis? How about on an altar where you have two teams to watch, or on a relic run where you might need an emergency spike but haven't been camping their monks for (hopefully) obvious reasons?

So none of you have ever wasted attack skills on Aegis'd targets?

That's what I thought.

Ever hear of something called "human error?" It happens from time to time and when it happens to the other team it's mm mm good. My point (which you have once again missed) is that Aegis widens the margin of human error. Is it a long cast? Sure. Is it obvious as hell? You bet. That doesn't mean other teams won't miss it. The majority of groups in HA are not like crack combat units that have great callers who never miss Aegis. That's why people run it.

GTFO Pl0x.

EDIT: Mendes... who said that?

Someone from your old guild, I think it was [Tore] or something.
I don't remember if it was Nurse or JR that cleaned up the thread.

Actually Nadia I do look at the animations instead of the "little yellow arrow" on their bar. Never ran a build in GvG that calls for dual shatters or you just one minded from HA and rely on gaze of contempt builds? I just find it hard to fathom how you are such a l33t!1!1! monk and never once noticed aegis animation. Healer hench > Nadia

Uh no, I don't notice them because I (gasp!) don't call, and I've not yet felt compelled to examine the enchantment rings on my teammates either but I suppose I can check it out. I have noticed the little blue aura thingie a few times--like if I'd cast just for the hell of it after a match or after the zaishen--but I never knew it was on all characters for the duration of the spell.

Still, I stand by my original points. If more people were smart about not using attack skills through Aegis, it wouldn't be as good as it is. But the bottom line is that people (on both teams) sometimes make mistakes during matches, and may miss something subtle like a little floating blue aura on their target. Besides, if a team doesn't have enchant removals or interrupts (which happens more than it should), Aegis rocks their socks.

LOL, "best prot monk in the game".. yeah, that was good stuff. I had to sadly delete this precious jewel, because of flame-war that erupted afterwards...

Also

Good flashbot/bsurge guy > mindless aegis spam prone to interrupts and shutdow, but thats just imo ofc...

Well that wasn't really the best part. The person that posted that also claimed to be the best infuser in guildwars, and that together you two were unstoppable.

Oh OK that must have been Mirada. I think I remember him mentioning this exchange now that I think of it. He's good, but the title "best infuser" is probably something of a stretch to say the least (although maybe not as far as calling me the best prot ).

You should probably thank him/her then
Also, if I remember correctly he said something about how your guild will be unstoppable once HA turns 8v8.
